After winning a scholarship to the prestigious Fast Lane Racing Academy, Danny finds himself competing against some of the fiercest young drivers in the world. And the new Danny and Jake do not have the same on-screen tension as the actors in the first movie. Danny's dad sells his racing buick the car he won his first race in to pay for the parts Danny's car needs. Born To Race is the story of Danny Krueger, a rebellious young street racer on a collision course with trouble. They head to the drag races where Danny has trouble at first but then dominates throughout the rest of his races.
This sequel however, was a huge let down. This was a good low-budget film for car enthusiasts and racing fans. Danny's mother gave up on helping him after running out of options and ways to keep him out of trouble and sent him to live with his father who has been sober for a year. Facing dismissal from the academy, Danny is forced to team up with an old rival. Now, if you're not a gear-head a lot of the lingo will go over your head, but if you're not really into cars or racing movies then I don't see why you would be reading reviews for a movie about cars and racing? After a battle with his father they end up settling the past and rebuilding Danny's car after Jake's father has Danny's brake line cut and Danny crashes. Also, I just have to say, that 2011 Black Mustang was a freaking beast and the Subaru was a true standout star. I also liked that the movie stayed true to the character direction, even with its clichés.
Tension soars on and off the track, and a terrible incident leaves Danny without a racing partner. . It's almost as if you can tell that these two are friends in real life which totally takes away from what is supposed to be an old rivalry. As a young boy he learned of racing from his father who later crashed into a wall running 150 and became an alcholic and abandoned him. Mostly because in real life we don't always resolve things in one sitting. I loved this movie because it stays completely true to itself. Even though the plot was a little predictable, it still came off to be an entertaining independent film.
Written by I discovered the first Born to Race on Netflix and was pleasantly surprised for being a low budget film. Jake crashes during the race when he revs his car to high and Danny is unable to finish the race stopping to save Jake pulling him out of his car just before it blows up. The plot was somewhat boring as I struggled to pay attention all the way through. Anyways, the writing is actually several times better than most Hollywood flicks. It was easy to both hate and root for the protagonist in this film because you could understand why he did the things he did, but at the same time, he was a young idiot, so the director and writer did a job of balancing it out. Danny Krueger is a twenty-year old street racer who plays by his own rules.
Danny hates the new town and doesn't understand why his father abandoned him but he soon warms up to the town when he meets a new girl but also starts a fued with the towns hot shot racer Jake Kendall son of his fathers rival. Danny goes on to win the drag. I give it a 3 and that's being generous. Born 2 Race is about a young teenager named Danny who is in love with street racing. The only actor who returned for the second movie is the girl who plays Jessica.
Danny lived with his mother and street raced up until he landed a sponsership with a big brand and later lost it after crashing into a cop car. One of the dumbest parts about Tokyo Drift was how many cars that kid burned through, there was no respect for the vehicles they way they respected the cars, the tuning and the performance in this movie. The pair must learn to set aside their differences as they vie for rookie spots on a professional racing team. . . .
