These damages include repair costs, loss of use and enjoyment, time spent in arranging and obtaining repairs, and reduced resale and trade-in values. I have 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee with lifetime warranty and have taken it to be fixed and they either tell me they don't see a problem or threaten me with an enormous fee to fix it Iam tired can't even wash my car because of leak screws starting to rust headliner ruined smells like mold if it rains my clothes gets wet seats are ruined I just don't know anymore smh I have a 06 Jeep Grand Cherokee that has a serious leak from the moon roof. This car is getting expensive for me as it drags chryslers name thru the mud. I also have a jeep grand cherokee 2005. This leakage has caused and continues to cause damage to their owners, who are members of the Class. I have a 2006 jeep grand Cherokee larado purchased new.
Our 2006 no longer with us and 2009 Jeep Commanders have experienced the water leak from the sunroof drainage tubes. The bad part is that I am in Chicago and although it seems warm, 13 degrees is holding me back. However i bought it from then in 2005 as a used vehicle and I believe they new about the leaking problem at that time and did not disclose it to me. Stains all around the headliner to the the passenger side. That said, a low-key matte finish mitigates the effect, while attractive stitched-fabric door upholstery and redesigned seating helps keep things looking and feeling luxe.
For me, I use my sunroof religiously and it seems after a set number of times it just fails. I pushed it again and it open up the rest of the way. If there is any class action lawsuit on this issue I will be glad to join in. As this is out of warranty, I need to pay this out of pocket. Water was pouring out of the a pillar screw holes and from the moon roof controls.
My seals seem in good condition and the drain hoses are clear. I myself am a mechanic and this seems like quite the design flaw i dont mind repairs they are expected with use but its a costly one for no good reason especially if that part can not be purchased separately. And now three years later it it leaking again. I have also had the same problem with the park assist system had it fixed already and it is not working again. It is just getting worse and never repairable, now going toward middle of car.
Have taken it in numerous times and no one has fixed the problem!! Not to mention, I only have three payments left. I have a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland with a leaky sunroof. This coming from a guy who was looking at an Altima, and a Passat first. I would like to sell this vehicle but it's giving me a hard time to do so. With the next little rain it leaked again. Have replaced 6 or 7 power window regulators, sunroof leaks, drain tubes appear to be completely ineffective. Press the vent button on the power sunroof switch and hold until the sunroof glass panel has moved to the full vent position and the motor movement has stopped for at least 1 second.
I'm not sure how much it would be to replace this plastic piece but I would suspect it to be expensive. What can be done to fix either the roof, or have the car replaced by Jeep? I've replaced the water pump, the radiator, the electrical system shorted out, the rear differential, the front differential which was a discontinued part so they had to piece it together, the bearings, the bushings and now there's a whine that won't go away. Have not returned to the dealer because it is out of warranty. Has leaked since it was new. When I researched to problem on my own I found the common issue of the clogged drain lines.
And you can hear the water swish from side to side while driving. Water runs onto fuse box, and continuously wets carpets. My carpet has to be replaced, but I may wait on this class action. While the sunroof is still in motion, have an assistant remove the sunroof fuse. Also stopping the sunroof in mid cycle can possibly damage the many plastic parts in the system. They have an excellent selection of used jeep wranglers.
Whats up with all these leaking sunroofs? Unless its really really good deal free look else where. The Charger is very quick and responsive, and it looks great. While the ratio remains the same at 14. I always have to park in my driveway with the front of my Jeep pointing downhill so all of the water runs down my Jeep and not pooling up on the roof. We bought our Commander new in 2007 and have had nothing but problems with it since it was new. We were thinking of buying a new one, but now I don't think Chrysler has resolved this problem. I cannot drive my automobile when it's raining.
He also said he would replace the leaking roof for 799. I took it back to the dealer where I bought it from to show the problem, which I was told it was leaking from the moonroof, and that their sevice department will contact me for repairs. I'm now concerned about mold spores growing and causing health problems. I need serious help because I shouldn't have to continue to dish out money for an issue that was already an issue. What can I do to get this fixed permanantly? Pressing the rocker towards the front of the car commands the sunroof closed.
It happens to me from time to time. Is there a class action I can join? Everytime i get in my car i smell mildew how am i supposed to have a date in this car. Thank you Chrysler I own a 2008 jeep compass and the moon roof has leaked for years I had to have the wires replaced in the driver side door because all the water build up corroded the wiring. A new, highly stylized yet restrained instrument-surround insertDodge calls it an aluminum-lithograph driver bezelexudes an upscale look and feel, but its let down by the acres of textured plastic that cover the top of the dash. On the way home I tried to open the moonroof and it wouldn't open. I keep the tubes blown clean but whenever it rains the passenger side of the inside of the vehicle gets soaked.
